Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Specialist to join our team at GL Staffing Services Inc. in Hollywood, FL. As a Quality Control Specialist, you will be responsible for inspecting aerospace and mechanical parts in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting incoming and outgoing material, to engineering prints, certificate of conformance and testing certificates.
  • Inspecting in-process material, making decisions on accepting or rejecting the lot, holding or releasing the lot in the internal system, and documenting the outcome.
  • Verifying the inputs from the external supplier and the outputs before delivery to the customer.
  • Inspecting possible at-risk components, such as potential for damage in long-term storage, shelf-life requirements, rust, damage, improper packaging, etc.
  • Reviewing provided documentation for conformity of products received to customer requirements.
  • Authorized to stop the process and notify the Quality Assurance Manager in the event of noticing anything that could result in a nonconformance.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in inspecting aerospace or mechanical parts in a manufacturing environment.
  • Education: High School or equivalent / quality-related function in an ISO 9001/AS 9100 environment.
  • Math skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Mechanical skills: Knowledge in the use of instruments, gages, hand tools, electronic measuring equipment, and optical tools.
  • Ability to read mechanical prints, specifications, including tables, descriptions of part numbers, description of materials, heat treatment, coating/finish certificates, etc.
  • Ability to identify links between or among documents, based on lot number, heat number, Purchase Order number, etc., so that when required by customers, Relli can present a good traceability package.
  • Ability to generate Inspection Reports and First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) for customers (based on AS 9102 forms). FAIR training would be provided; prior experience with AS 9102 forms is a plus.
  • Physical stamina and strength: Quality control inspectors must be able to stand/sit for long periods on the job and lift heavy objects up to 25 lbs.
  • Technical skills: Quality control inspectors must understand blueprints, technical documents, and manuals, ensuring that products and parts meet quality standards. Ability to interpret and work using MIL-standards and Industry Standards.
