Capacity Planner

The Afterhours Capacity Planner plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient use of Hub Group's transportation capacity. This position is responsible for analyzing Driver Optimization solutions and assigning loads to HGT capacity within an assigned geographic territory.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze Driver Optimization solutions and assign loads to HGT capacity in compliance with federal safety regulations and company policies.
- Develop and execute daily market plans to maximize driver utilization and minimize costs.
- Re-plan loads as needed due to delays, equipment failure, or driver issues.
- Collaborate with Intermodal Operations and Network Optimization to optimize equipment utilization and driver productivity.
- Proactively work with Terminal Operations, Intermodal Operations, and Account Management to ensure capacity coverage in advance of customer requirements.
- Implement initiatives to improve routing and equipment utilization consistent with customer expectations and Network needs.
- Meet established metrics, including loaded miles, driver utilization, service, safety, and cost per load.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- 2-3 years' experience in transportation operations (truckload or intermodal) preferred.
- Proficiency with transportation management systems in a large corporate environment preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Availability for weekend coverage on a rotating basis.
- Tuesday-Saturday: 4 PM - 1 AM
- Sunday-Thursday: 6 PM - 3 AM
- Monday-Friday: 8 PM - 5 AM
- Wednesday-Sunday: 10 PM - 7 AM
