The Afterhours Capacity Planner plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient use of Hub Group's transportation capacity. This position is responsible for analyzing Driver Optimization solutions and assigning loads to HGT capacity within an assigned geographic territory.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze Driver Optimization solutions and assign loads to HGT capacity in compliance with federal safety regulations and geographic considerations.
- Support the development of market plans and execute daily execution of all inbound and outbound loads for an assigned geographic territory.
- Re-plan loads when necessary due to delays, equipment failure, or driver issues.
- Collaborate with Intermodal Operations and Network Optimization to maximize equipment utilization and driver productivity.
- Proactively work with Terminal Operations, Intermodal Operations, and Account Management to confirm capacity coverage in advance of anticipated customer requirements.
- Plan and implement initiatives to improve routing and equipment utilization consistent with customer expectations and Network needs.
- Meet established metrics, including loaded miles, driver utilization, service, safety, and cost per load.
- Resolve all outstanding load planning issues and effectively communicate with the afterhours team.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- 2-3 years' experience in transportation operations (truckload or intermodal) preferred.
- Proficiency with transportation management systems in a large corporate environment preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter and highly motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Available for weekend coverage on a rotating basis.
