About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Machinist/Millwright to join our team at SMS group Inc. in our East Pittsburgh location. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for working independently on manual lathes, bridge-ports, table mill, and grinders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate manual lathes, bridge-ports, table mill, and grinders with precision and accuracy.
  • Work with forklifts, cranes, blueprints, hand tools, precision measurement equipment, and various other manufacturing/maintenance processes.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and ensure proper upkeep.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals and deadlines.
Requirements
  • 2-year certification from an accredited trade school or 1-2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing work schedules.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand, crouch, kneel, and climb stairs for long periods.
