Machinist/Millwright

We are seeking a skilled Machinist/Millwright to join our team at SMS group Inc. in East Pittsburgh. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for working independently on manual lathes, bridge-ports, table mill, and grinders.

• Operate manual lathes, bridge-ports, table mill, and grinders with precision and accuracy
• Work with forklifts, cranes, blueprints, hand tools, precision measurement equipment, and various other manufacturing/maintenance processes
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve production goals and maintain a safe working environment
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and maintain a clean and organized workspace

• 2-year certification from an accredited trade school or 1-2 years of relevant experience
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• Proficiency in operating Bridge points, table mill, lathes, and drill presses
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, crouch, kneel, and climb stairs for long periods
