Essential Qualifications and Experience
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in diverse fields such as audio-visual technology, robotics, mechanical engineering, electrical work, or telecommunications installations.
Physical capability to lift up to 80 lbs.
High School diploma or GED is mandatory.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas and navigation of spreadsheets.
Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of a 2-year technical degree is advantageous.
Position Overview
Insight Global is seeking an Equipment Technician to become part of a leading industrial organization. This position involves ongoing contractual work. The selected candidate will receive training to assess, evaluate, maintain, repair, configure, calibrate, and install various control instruments such as flow monitors, pressure sensors, temperature gauges, and other related equipment within a power generation facility. Responsibilities include reporting findings to supervisory personnel.
The technician will be instructed in performing various tasks, including conducting quarterly emissions audits and assisting with Gas and Flow RATA's as mandated by regulatory authorities. Utilization of portable measurement devices, manometers, and similar testing apparatus will be required.
Preventive maintenance duties will also be part of the role, including testing flue gases and flows, reading meters, and documenting raw data in Excel worksheets. Technicians at this level will develop skills to work on intricate systems and machinery, guided by seasoned Instrument Technicians.
It is essential for candidates to be capable of working at heights of 300 feet or more and to climb caged ladders up to 200 feet. The ability to independently lift and transport up to 80 lbs is also necessary. The work schedule consists of four ten-hour days, with travel to various locations as needed. All travel expenses and accommodations will be reimbursed, and overtime compensation is available after exceeding 40 hours of work per week. Some assignments may require overnight stays, for which hotel accommodations and meals will be provided.
