Job Summary

D2B Groups is seeking a skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Service Technician to join our team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment used in various industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult with our Service Supervisor to plan effective work and travel schedules, prioritizing customer needs and considering equipment location and part availability.
  • Diagnose malfunctions, repair or replace worn and defective parts, and install new assemblies to correct malfunctions and maintain equipment in operating condition.
  • Provide tools and parts and arrange for facilities to perform repair work, usually on customer premises.
  • Inspect, operate, and test machines upon initial delivery, at specified inspection intervals, and upon completion of any repair work to ensure proper functioning of equipment and its components.
  • Report to our Service Supervisor information such as customer name, machine description, malfunction nature, time involved, mileage, and other relevant details for proper accounting and billing.
  • Strive to increase technical skills through attendance at company-sponsored vocational schools, annual training meetings, and reading of technical literature.
  • Promote and enhance the company image by maintaining a neat personal appearance and keeping the service truck in a clean, polished, and orderly condition.
  • Experienced or advanced technicians are expected to serve as troubleshooters on recurring or unusual problems, conferring with Engineering, Manufacturing, and other service personnel to resolve.
  • Experienced or advanced technicians will be expected to train new technicians or supervise a team of technicians in assembling or servicing large units or in a joint effort on large repair jobs.

Requirements

  • Experience working on heavy equipment or generators is preferred.
  • Experience working with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment is required.
  • 2+ years of field service experience is preferred.
  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, MVR, and physical is required.
  • Experience working with customers is essential.
