Department: Security Location: Seattle, WA

Horizon House is a vibrant community where staff and residents engage and grow together. We are currently seeking a Safety and Security Coordinator who can contribute positively to our residents' experiences and support them in achieving their fullest potential. Your role will be crucial in enhancing the well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage incoming communications by answering phones, screening calls, taking messages, and directing calls to the appropriate personnel or residents.
  • Welcome and register visitors and guests, while assisting residents, vendors, and visitors in accordance with Horizon House protocols.
  • Provide directions and address inquiries as necessary.
  • React to emergency situations following established protocols (e.g., Fire Control Panel/Emergency Off Hook).
  • Distribute important communications (notices, bulletins) as required.
  • Compile a daily security report (hourly log) and document any security concerns or incidents.
  • Conduct thorough patrols of the premises and inspect door tabs in line with facility policies. Report any suspicious individuals or activities to law enforcement.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with their packages and deliveries as needed.
  • Conduct inspections of fire extinguishers throughout the building in accordance with facility guidelines.
  • Notify the janitorial supervisor on duty of any maintenance or cleaning issues.
  • Provide transportation for residents to and from events as requested by the Resident Services Office.
  • Accompany employees or guests to their vehicles, and assist residents to their apartments when necessary.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Lead Security Officer.
  • Test fire doors monthly to ensure proper latching in case of a fire.
  • Participate in organizational Quality Improvement Committees as needed.
