Boiler Technician

Job Summary:

Tate Engineering Systems INC is seeking a skilled Boiler Technician to join our team. As a Boiler Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing operational problems with boiler controls and accessories. You will also be involved in new machine installation, start-ups, repairs, and selling service and service contracts.

• Diagnose and repair operational problems with boiler controls and accessories
• Install, start-up, and repair boilers and related equipment
• Sell service and service contracts to customers
• Perform preventative maintenance on boilers and related equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment
• Perform installation upgrades, including gas conversion, flame safeguard, and parallel positioning controls
• Perform on-call duties as scheduled

• High school diploma and minimum of two years related experience and/or training or equivalent of education and experience
• Complete knowledge of commercial and industrial boiler room units
• Experience in programmable logic and direct digital controls, combustion, combustion controls, emissions, efficiency testing, flame safe guard controls, HVACR systems, steam systems, and electrical
• Valid driver's license, apprentice or journeyman license, and first or second-grade engineer's license (optional)
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization

• Adhere to all Tate Safety Protocol at all times

• Provide outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers
• Attend required vendor training and company-sponsored classes
• Maintain truck stock inventory and repair parts
• Maintain company vehicle in clean manner (inside and out), drive safely, and adhere to all driving laws
• Maintain a clean driving record
• Maintain regular attendance
• Assist inside service or sales by identifying and submitting 5 Technician Leads per week
• Prepare and submit accurate service tickets for all work performed daily
• Assist with training less-experienced personnel
• Maintain records concerning time, labor, and materials and logs of tasks performed
