Job Description

At Tate Engineering Systems INC, we are seeking a highly skilled Boiler Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing operational problems with boiler controls and accessories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair operational problems with boiler controls and accessories
  • Install, start-up, repair, and sell service and service contracts for new machines
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including open, clean, close, fire, and set combustion, emission analysis, and equipment start-up per manufacturer
  • Procure repair parts as needed and maintain vendor software and perform updates and backups as required
  • Download and back up control files for customer equipment
  • Perform other duties and cross-training as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma and minimum of two years related experience and/or training or equivalent of education and experience
  • Complete knowledge of commercial and industrial boiler room units
  • Experience in Programmable Logic and Direct Digital Controls, combustion, combustion controls, emissions, efficiency testing, flame safe guard controls, HVACR systems, steam systems, and electrical
  • Valid Driver's License, Apprentice or Journeyman License, and First or Second Grade Engineer's License (optional)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
