Job Summary

Montgomery College seeks a seasoned development professional to lead its fundraising efforts and alumni relations. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of securing major gifts, managing a team, and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve strategic goals.


The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in a related field and at least ten years of experience in development, with a focus on capital campaign planning, major gift fundraising, and donor stewardship. They will be an effective communicator, able to write persuasive proposals and make presentations to internal and external groups.


The Vice President for Development will report to the Senior Vice President for Advancement and Community Engagement and will be responsible for leading the development and alumni relations team, managing a budget, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.


Additional responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to achieve annual and campaign goals.
  • Managing a team of development professionals, providing guidance, and ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with donors, alumni, and community leaders to secure support for the College.
  • Stewarding major gifts, ensuring timely and effective recognition and communication with donors.
  • Collaborating with the Senior Vice President for Advancement and Community Engagement to develop and implement strategic plans for advancement and community engagement.

Requirements
A bachelor's degree in a related field is required. A master's degree in a field related to business, development, fundraising, non-profit management, or a field where knowledge and skills are transferable is preferred. At least ten years of experience in development with demonstrated success in capital campaign planning and fundraising, soliciting major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, donor stewardship, and database management.


The salary range for this position is $126,683 – $221,668. Initial salary placement for new hires falls between the minimum and midpoint of the range ($126,683 - $174,176), based on experience and internal equity.
