Position Overview

The Office of Licensure and Certification is looking for two dedicated registered nurses to perform onsite evaluations and investigations at acute care facilities. The responsibilities encompass federal certification, validation, and complaint assessments; state licensure inspections; and the interpretation of relevant federal and state laws and regulations to ensure compliance. Additionally, the role involves preparing comprehensive written reports following surveys and inspections. The primary focus will be on home health agency (HHA) and hospice programs, with a secondary emphasis on home care organizations (HCO).

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough onsite surveys and inspections at various healthcare facilities.
  • Perform complaint investigations and ensure adherence to federal and state regulations.
  • Prepare detailed written reports summarizing findings and compliance status.
  • Travel statewide using a personal vehicle until a state vehicle is assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must possess a valid registered nurse (RN) license and have substantial clinical experience to assess healthcare delivery in acute care settings. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to evaluate health services for compliance with established regulations and standards, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and exhibit strong organizational skills to manage travel schedules and meet reporting deadlines. A valid State Driver's License is necessary for operating a state vehicle or personal vehicle for agency-related business. Additionally, candidates must be able to obtain medical clearance for fit testing as per OSHA standards within the specified timeframe.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in conducting state or federal healthcare facility evaluations is highly desirable.
