Physician Practice Coordinator

The Physician Practice Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the physician and clinical staff in delivering high-quality patient care. This position is responsible for performing administrative tasks to maintain a smooth and efficient front and back office workflow.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinates patient communications, provision of health education information, and coordination of translation services.
- Manages physician practice clinical and surgery schedule, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of care.
- Performs surgery scheduling, including verifying insurance, scheduling pre- and post-operative appointments, and acquiring health clearances.
- Manages physician referral work queues, completing referrals in Epic corresponding to PPC tasks.
- Handles administrative functions, including physician correspondence, forms, and request for authorizations.
- Works with workers compensation adjusters, nurse case managers, and submits WC request for authorizations.
- Completes credentialing, ensures CVs are updated, and medical staff privileges are current.
- Monitors workflow, assists in work assignments, and recommends areas for improvement.
- Coordinates MD mentoring opportunities with fellows, students, and other healthcare professionals.
- Works closely with billing and HIS departments to deliver information for requested chart audits.
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Three years of experience working with a large medical group practice, and surgery scheduling experience in a high-volume call setting.
- Proficient in insurance protocols and knowledge of HMO, PPO, and POS plans.
- Experience working with worker's compensation carriers and understanding of the WC cycle and protocols.
