The Head of Tax Strategy and Compliance will oversee all tax-related functions, spearheading initiatives to identify, strategize, develop, and implement tax strategies while managing daily operations to enhance the Company's financial performance. This role also entails establishing robust processes to guarantee the accuracy and completeness of all tax reporting and submissions, ensuring adherence to domestic and limited international tax regulations.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will collaborate closely with the Finance and Operations Teams to formulate and refine tax processes that are vital to the Company's overarching financial management strategy and success. You will engage with cross-functional leaders, executive stakeholders, and external partners in a dynamic, high-growth setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all tax-related matters for the Company, including strategy formulation, planning, and compliance
  • Prepare comprehensive federal, state, and international tax documentation, coordinating with external consultants for the preparation and submission of these returns
  • Manage the preparation and filing of state and local sales tax and Canadian VAT returns
  • Act as the Company's representative in all tax inquiries and audits conducted by third parties
  • Identify, evaluate, and communicate intricate tax issues and their implications for the Company and its operations to key stakeholders
  • Lead and cultivate a proficient tax team to support business operations and strategic objectives
  • Collaborate with various functional teams to pinpoint and evaluate tax opportunities while proactively addressing tax risks through effective process design
  • Stay informed on emerging tax laws, rulings, and cases impacting individuals and entities
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Active CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license
  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Extensive tax expertise with recent involvement in high-income and complex federal and multi-state partnership, S-Corp, and C-Corp tax returns
  • Experience in multi-state sales and use tax compliance
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate effectively with diverse audiences
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong focus on process improvement
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with audits (IRS and state tax authorities)
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks
  • Familiarity with Oracle systems
