PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Emergency Management Specialist. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of emergency management principles, practices, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive emergency management plans, procedures, and protocols to ensure business continuity and resilience.
- Lead emergency response efforts, including coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and providing critical support during emergency situations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks, and develop strategies to prevent or minimize disruptions to business operations.
- Provide training and education to employees on emergency management procedures, protocols, and best practices.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including government agencies, emergency management organizations, and mutual assistance groups.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in emergency management, and apply this knowledge to improve our emergency management program.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as emergency management, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in emergency management, disaster response, or a related field.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective emergency management plans and procedures.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of emergency management principles, practices, and procedures, including the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the Incident Command System (ICS).
- Advanced degree in a relevant field.
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) certification from the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM).
- Experience working in the electric utility industry or a related field.
- Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and practices, as well as federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
