About the Role

Caterpillar is seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydraulics System Engineer to join our team in Peoria, IL. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and contributing to the design and development of innovative hydraulic systems for our construction equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of hydraulic systems, ensuring superior performance, durability, quality, and serviceability.
  • Collaborate with internal and external suppliers to develop and improve hydraulic components and systems.
  • Utilize technical expertise and product knowledge to extract data from our products and transform it into valuable insights, creating integrated solutions for customers.
  • Work closely with global hydraulic engineering teams in the United States, Europe, India, and China to develop and implement hydraulic system designs.
  • Develop solutions for customers, involving diverse teams in the product group, machine performance team, software, controls, and component development teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering from an accredited university.
  • Progressive and relevant engineering experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify critical requirements, define appropriate next actions, and resolve issues with minimal oversight.
  • Extensive knowledge of machine or system design and an understanding of the design process and standards.
  • Ability to view, analyze, and evaluate machine test data to make critical design decisions.
