Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Behavioral Health team at MyMichigan Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide direct care to patients with mental health needs, utilizing your expertise in psychiatric-mental health nursing to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Intervention: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and provide interventions to address presenting symptoms.
  • Medication Management: Administer medications as ordered, educate patients and families on medication use, and monitor for potential side effects.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document patient information, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes, and report significant changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
  • Education and Training: Provide education to patients and families on mental health topics, including coping strategies, medication management, and disease management.
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Demonstrate leadership skills, including delegation, supervision, and guidance of support staff, and contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN preferred)
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Certification (PMANCC), and other certifications as required by the facility
  • Experience: One or more years of experience in mental health nursing, with a strong background in psychiatric-mental health nursing
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
