Position Overview
We are in search of a driven, skilled, and collaborative scientist to enhance our expanding biology division. The successful candidate will possess expertise in essential aspects of chemical biology and thrive in a multidisciplinary environment alongside biologists, pharmacologists, chemists, enzymologists, and DMPK specialists focused on innovative therapeutic development.
Key Responsibilities
- Innovate and implement advanced chemical biology techniques for target validation and small-molecule characterization, emphasizing chemoproteomics and activity-based protein profiling.
- Explore and apply creative methodologies for the study of covalent ligands.
- Design and execute experiments to support multiple concurrent drug discovery initiatives.
- Prepare samples for proteomic evaluation and work closely with the mass spectrometry team for data collection and interpretation.
- Generate, analyze, and interpret experimental data while effectively communicating findings.
- Manage daily laboratory operations, including reagent oversight, inventory organization, and administrative tasks.
- Oversee research associates and facilitate coordination with external contract research organizations (CROs).
- Foster a laboratory culture that prioritizes scientific excellence, integrity, and teamwork.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. or equivalent in Chemical Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years of postdoctoral experience utilizing chemical biology and molecular biology methods in drug discovery within an academic or industry context.
- Solid foundation in chemical biology techniques related to target engagement and functional characterization of ligands in cellular systems.
- Proven expertise in chemoproteomics, activity-based protein profiling, and the characterization of both covalent and non-covalent ligands.
- Familiarity with standard molecular and cellular biology techniques to support ligand characterization, such as western blotting, cell culture, and assay development.
- A strong publication record reflecting innovative applications of chemical biology strategies in elucidating small-molecule mechanisms of action.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a talent for translating complex scientific concepts into actionable experimental plans.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
- Effective communication skills for presenting scientific data clearly.
