Job Summary

PennState Health is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team in a clinical support role. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare professionals with various clinical tasks, including obtaining specimens, conducting routine lab studies, and preparing patients for exams.
  • Provide administrative support, such as coordinating patient flow, scheduling appointments, and managing phone messages.
  • Serve as a preceptor for new medical assistants and instruct medical assistant students.
  • Meet current eligibility to sit for the exam with attainment of certification or registration through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistants within 90 days of employment date or current active status as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistant certification.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain BLS Certification within 6 months of employment date.
  • Preferred qualifications include a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program and previous outpatient experience.
