Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and equity-focused Optometrist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vision examinations with school-aged children and conveying findings and follow-up services to family members. Additionally, they will ensure comprehensive documentation and protection of medical records, and manage positive relationships with staff and outside organizations.

Requirements / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold or qualify for a permit or credential in California that authorizes them to provide instruction in a public school. LA Unified can further advise on qualifications after an application has been submitted.

Application Procedures

1. A cover letter that describes qualifications for this position and successful experience in the following areas:
Conducting vision examinations with school-aged children and conveying findings and follow-up services to family members
Ensuring comprehensive documentation and protection of medical records.
Managing positive relationships with staff and outside organizations.
2. A current resume (include LAUSD employee number, if you are an LAUSD employee)
3. A list of three (3) references that includes your current and next most recent supervisor(s) with their contact information. References will be verified for all applicants who are finalists for the position.
