Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Special Education Support Professional to join our team at International Leadership of Texas. As an Instructional Aide for Students with Disabilities, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal needs of our students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials and maintaining a well-organized classroom environment.
  • Provide individualized support to students with disabilities, including transferring, lifting, and positioning, as well as assisting with personal care and hygiene.
  • Help manage student behavior, including intervening in crisis situations and restraining students as needed.
  • Work with students to develop motor skills and conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher.
  • Supervise and assist students throughout the school day, including lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
  • Keep teachers informed of special needs or problems of assigned students.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or two years of study at an institution of higher learning, or have met formal academic assessment as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
  • Valid Texas educational aide certificate.
  • Ability to work with children with disabilities, follow verbal and written instructions, and communicate effectively.
  • Two years of experience working with children.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent standing, kneeling, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting. You will also be required to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress.
