Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated 6th Grade Social Studies Teacher to join our team at International Leadership of Texas. As a key member of our educational community, you will be responsible for providing students with a comprehensive and engaging social studies education.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the district's curriculum and show evidence of preparation.
  2. Plan and use instructional strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology that reflect understanding of individual student differences.
  3. Conduct assessments of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
  4. Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students.
  5. Work with other staff members to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
  6. Plan and assign work to instructional aides and volunteers and oversee completion.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned.
  • Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
  • Knowledge of core academic subject assigned, curriculum, and instruction.
  • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One-year student teaching or approved internship.
