Job Summary

Cuyahoga Community College is seeking a highly qualified Tenure Track Faculty, Nursing to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for teaching a variety of courses in the Associate Degree Nursing Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in health assessment, fundamental nursing, medical-surgical nursing, or nursing specialties in classroom, clinical settings, and/or laboratory environments.
  • Develop and deliver lectures, evaluate student performance, and prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
  • Participate in college and/or division committee membership and contribute to curriculum development, teaching, and research initiatives.
  • Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
  • Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions, and advise students on academic and vocational curricula.
  • Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials, and methods of instruction.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues, and participate in campus and community events.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree with a major in nursing.
  • Completion of a professional nursing education program approved by a state board of nursing.
  • Minimum of 2 years current experience in the practice of nursing as a RN.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Medical/Surgical Nursing.
  • Current active, unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Ohio.
  • Ability to teach both didactic and clinical courses.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Suite (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching, and instruction for students.
  • Advanced communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and organizational skills.
  • Logic and reasoning skills to identify solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Community college teaching experience.
