Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as a Supervisor for Doctrine and Plans (N5) in the Department of the Navy. As a key advisor and consultant to the Director, Branch Head, and Executive Director, you will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide coordination, technical direction, and review to the N5 divisions' plans and policy development and products, including Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) development and modernization.
  • Develop courses of action to distribute workloads within the branch, assign and track tasking, manage manpower, and ensure military and civilian personnel requirements are met.
  • Manage the activities of military and civilian personnel, including (4) O-4, (2) O-3, (1) GS-13, and (5) GS-12.
  • Plan work, set priorities, and schedule work as necessary to ensure effective and expeditious accomplishment of priority work without adverse impact on regular and recurring work.
  • Develop performance standards and evaluate employee performance.
  • Take disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands, and recommend more serious disciplinary measures to higher supervision.
Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Must be able to travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
Qualifications

Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Managing teams in the areas of research, analysis, and evaluation of strategic policy and future capabilities of Naval Surface Warfare development to aid in the development of tactical training, doctrine, and guidance.
