Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Palo Verde Cancer Specialists. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the most optimal radiation therapy treatments are provided to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fulfill patient care responsibilities, including checking schedules, organizing patient flow, and assisting patients with walking, transfers, and preparing for treatment.
  • Perform warm-up and calibration checks of equipment, including linear accelerators, HDR, and CT machines.
  • Check photon beams and electron beams for consistency and accuracy of beam alignment.
  • Fabricate blocks, molds, bolus material, and immobilization devices as needed.
  • Accurately deliver radiation treatment according to written prescription and treatment plan.
  • Provide safety and patient care through consistent practice of departmental procedures for treatment administration.
  • Assure the quality of treatment delivery through complete and accurate documentation of treatment records.
  • Assure the quality and consistency of treatment portal placement by taking portal films, CBCT, or KV imaging according to departmental procedures.
Requirements
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Computer experience with EMR knowledge.
  • Excellent work ethic, including integrity, positive attitude, productivity, organization, and respect for leadership.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a detail-oriented, fast-paced setting.
  • Act as a resource to other medical and office staff.
  • Follow OSHA guidelines for radiation, biohazardous waste, and potential blood-borne pathogens.
  • Comply with all rules, regulations, and procedures of the practice.
Education and Experience
  • Associates degree from an accredited school.
  • Minimum one year of radiation therapy experience.
  • Licensed by the State of AZ and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • CPR certified.
