Our most valuable asset is our workforce. We are seeking a skilled and driven professional to assume the role of Automation Surveillance Manager within our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management (ORCM) sector, located in Houston, TX.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish direction and strategy to achieve Automation objectives
  • Facilitate resource alignment and allocation
  • Maintain a global perspective to connect the Automation team with the Business Unit
  • Foster an environment where team members can make daily decisions while providing necessary tools, training, and support
  • Ensure a productive working environment to meet Business Unit goals
  • Identify and eliminate obstacles and conflicts (both internal and external)
  • Oversee, communicate, and ensure adherence to Oxy standards and best practices
  • Design and implement staff development initiatives
  • Present recommendations and requests for approval to senior management in collaboration with the Automation Manager
  • Identify and improve process inefficiencies and control systems
  • Lead teams focused on continuous improvement
  • Engage in QAQC audit processes
  • Optimize the use of internal and external resources within the business unit
  • Participate in multidisciplinary technical evaluations of major assets and new business opportunities
  • Contribute to annual and long-term business planning
  • Supervise a diverse team within the Automation Surveillance division
  • Develop staffing plans to ensure adequate personnel levels to support business objectives
  • Successfully recruit, hire, and onboard candidates who align with the organization's values
  • Enhance the professional and technical skills of team members through performance management, including goal setting, coaching, and training
  • Develop and manage systems and practices to maintain a safe, productive, and environmentally responsible workplace
