About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Automation Surveillance Manager in our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management (ORCM) department, based in Houston, TX. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for setting direction and strategy to meet Automation targets, facilitating alignment and allocation of resources, and ensuring a global perspective to tie the Automation team to the Business Unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve Automation targets and improve process efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to allocate resources and ensure effective project execution.
- Provide global perspective and leadership to tie the Automation team to the Business Unit.
- Create an environment that empowers team members to make decisions, while providing necessary tools, training, and support.
- Ensure a working environment that fosters productivity and meets Business Unit targets.
- Identify and remove roadblocks and impediments, manage conflict, and ensure compliance with Oxy standards and best practices.
- Design and implement staff development programs to enhance team capabilities.
- Present recommendations and approval requests to senior management in coordination with the Automation Manager.
- Lead continuous improvement teams to identify and enhance process inefficiencies and control equipment.
- Participate in QAQC audit processes to ensure quality and compliance.
- Effectively utilize internal and external resources to support business objectives.
- Participate in multi-discipline technical reviews of major assets and new business ventures.
- Contribute to annual and long-term business planning to ensure alignment with company goals.
- Supervise staff of various levels and disciplines within the Automation Surveillance Teams.
- Develop and implement staffing plans to ensure adequate staffing levels to support business plans.
- Recruit, hire, and onboard employees who are a good fit for the position and organization.
- Develop others' professional and technical skills through performance management, goal setting, coaching/feedback, training/development.
- Develop and/or manage programs, systems, and practices to maintain and enhance a safe, productive, and environmentally sound work environment.
