Job Summary

Bicycle Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Director of Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) to lead a small team of DMPK scientists supporting multiple projects from target identification through to candidate selection and regulatory submission.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide DMPK scientific leadership across all stages of the portfolio.
  2. Oversee the quality and performance of all DMPK activities, including interactions with external CROs and internal project stakeholders.
  3. Work collaboratively with other core disciplines to support compound progression based on optimizing DMPK properties.
  4. Integrate data from multiple sources to inform understanding of bicyclic peptide distribution, metabolism, and excretion.
  5. Work closely with in-vivo pharmacology to design experiments to understand preclinical pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (pk/pd) relationships.
  6. Work closely with the discovery team and regulatory team to author and review DMPK-related IND documents.
  7. Manage DMPK budgets for CROs and monitor CROs to ensure delivery of quality data on time.
  8. Support leadership of the Quantitative Pharmacology group and junior staff development.
Requirements
  1. PhD in a relevant scientific discipline, such as drug metabolism, pharmacology, or pharmaceutical sciences.
  2. Significant experience working on DMPK drug discovery and/or development projects with a track record of successful delivery.
  3. In-depth understanding of DMPK science with additional knowledge of related disciplines.
  4. Demonstrated expertise in DMPK problem-solving across drug discovery.
  5. Ability to adapt working style to suit different cultures and partner expectations in both remote and office-based environments.
  6. Excellent organization and communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to influence.
