Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Monitor, assess, and document each patient's cardiac rhythm, promptly notifying nursing staff of any significant arrhythmias.
- Review and analyze patients' cardiac medication profiles, alerting medical personnel to any concerning rhythm or ECG interval changes.
- Utilize calipers to measure heart rhythm rates and intervals, accurately recording findings in patient charts.
- Maintain a consistent schedule for recording strips and ensure an adequate supply of monitoring materials.
- Report any technical issues with cardiac monitoring equipment and ensure cleanliness of monitoring devices.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a Basic Arrhythmia Recognition or ECG/EKG interpretation course is mandatory.
Experience:
- Preferred experience includes at least one year in a similar role.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and computer systems is advantageous.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Completion of the ECG Rhythm Exam Non-Clinical within the first month of employment is necessary.
