Staff Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team at DHD Consulting. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of financial operations, including general ledger management, monthly closings, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Complete general ledger operations, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements
• Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts, including cash, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
• Assist with yearend closings, including preparation of financial statements and tax returns
• Administer and oversee accounts payable, including vendor management and payment processing
• Prepare local tax computations and returns, including sales tax and use tax
• Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts, including financial modeling and analysis
• Monitor and resolve bank issues, including fee anomalies and check differences
• Account/bank reconciliations, including identification and resolution of discrepancies
• Review and process expense reports, including approval and payment processing
• Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process, including data collection and documentation
• Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures, including policy development and training
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• 2+ years of experience in accounting, including general ledger management and financial reporting
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP and financial statement preparation
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to work effectively with employees and vendors
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Advanced level of proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and Word
• SAP Business 1 knowledge preferred
• Must be eligible to work in the USA
Physical Requirements:
The employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
