We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Academic and Career Advisor to join our team at The College of Southern Maryland. As a key member of our Advising and Career Services department, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and career goals of our students.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic and career advising support to students, including assistance with registration, course selection, and transfer planning.
- Manage a caseload of students in a specified pathway, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their academic and career objectives.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement advising strategies and programs that promote student success.
- Collect and analyze data to inform advising practices and improve student outcomes.
- Serve as a campus contact for ACS Data and provide technical support to students and faculty.
- Promote credit and continuing education courses and programs to students and the community.
- Participate in departmental and institutional committees to advance the vision of the department and the college.
- Bachelor's degree required, with two years of experience in career development, education, or a related field.
- Knowledge and experience in assisting students in a college setting in academic and/or career development.
- Community college experience preferred, as well as experience with data analysis and reporting.
