Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Automotive Service Instructor to join our team at Broward County Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining a classroom atmosphere that generates high expectations and enthusiasm for learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Evaluation

The Automotive Service Instructor shall use assessment strategies to assist in the continuous development of students.

Communication and Collaboration

The Instructor shall use effective communication techniques with students, parents, and stakeholders to ensure a positive learning environment.

Continuous Improvement

The Instructor shall engage in planned continuous professional quality improvement for self and school.

Critical Thinking and Problem Solving

The Instructor shall use techniques and strategies that promote and enhance critical, creative, and evaluative thinking capabilities of students.

Diversity and Inclusion

The Instructor shall use instructional strategies and materials that reflect each student's culture, learning styles, special needs, and socio-economic background.

Ethics and Professional Conduct

The Instructor shall fulfill the terms of any affected written contract and adhere to the code of ethics and principles of professional conduct of the education profession in Florida.

Human Development and Learning

The Instructor shall use an understanding of learning and human development to provide a positive learning environment that supports the intellectual, personal, and social development of all students.

Knowledge and Subject Matter

The Instructor shall demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the subject matter.

Learning Environments

The Instructor shall establish a classroom management system that maintains appropriate discipline and creates a positive learning environment.

Planning and Implementation

The Instructor shall plan, align, implement, and evaluate effective instruction and assessment in a variety of learning environments.

Role of the Instructor

The Instructor shall work with peers, parents, community, and other stakeholders in the continuous improvement of the educational experiences of students.

Technology Integration

The Instructor shall integrate appropriate technology in teaching and learning processes.

ESOL Requirement

The Instructor shall complete the training and obtain the endorsement outlined in state board of education rules and/or guidelines if assigned Limited English Proficient (LEP) students.

Record Keeping and Reporting

The Instructor shall keep school records and prepare and submit such reports as may be required by law, by regulations of the State Board or School District.

Property Accountability

The Instructor shall account for all other school property (keys, records, reports, personal computers, etc.)

Additional Responsibilities

The Instructor shall perform and promote all activities in compliance with equal employment and non-discrimination policies.

Adherence to Safety Procedures

The Instructor shall ensure adherence to good safety procedures.

Other Duties

The Instructor shall perform other duties as assigned by the principal.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
  • Appropriate State of Florida certification.
  • Computer skills as required for the position.
Preferred Qualifications and ExperienceBilingual skills preferred.
