Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct basic diagnostics on lawn and garden machinery, utility vehicles, and other small engine devices to identify necessary repairs.
  • Perform repairs as required.
  • Handle pre-delivery setup for new lawn and garden equipment, utility vehicles, and other small engine devices.
  • Carry out preventative service inspections.
  • Load and unload equipment as necessary.
  • Document work orders thoroughly, detailing diagnostics, repairs performed, parts utilized, and time spent.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Maintain a tidy work area and execute tasks in an organized manner.
  • Ensure the upkeep of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
  • Present a clean and professional appearance.
  • Arrive at work punctually.
  • Exhibit effective time management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic.
  • Communicate effectively in both individual and group settings.
  • Foster positive and professional relationships with colleagues and management.

  • Promote the service department to customers, including service work, inspections, and parts.

Qualifications and Skills

  • One or more years of experience or a technical college degree or certification is preferred.
  • Experience in setup, repair, service, and maintenance according to technical manuals.
  • Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Experience with Service ADVISORTM or similar diagnostic tools is preferred.
  • Ability to lift, bend, and carry equipment.
  • A valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
  • A CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is preferred.
