Structural Engineer

Brown and Caldwell is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Structural Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our project leadership team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and project management skills to deliver high-quality designs for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop scopes of work and level of effort estimates for structural project work.
- Provide structural engineering design for tanks, basins, and building facilities at water and wastewater treatment plants.
- Design concrete, steel, and masonry structures per CBC.
- Perform condition assessments of existing structures.
- Prepare detailed design sketches and coordinate with designer staff to prepare BIM models and design drawings.
- Prepare construction specifications and coordinate with architects and process, mechanical, and electrical engineering staff.
- Provide construction administration support, including submittal review, RFI responses, and structural observations.
- Utilize STAAD Pro, RAM, Enercalc, and other software for structural design.
- Comprehensive knowledge of concrete, steel, and masonry structural design per CBC and referenced standards.
- Experience with treatment plants, ports, and heavy civil/structural projects preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering design required.
- Structural design experience with wastewater treatment plant or industrial facilities preferred; commercial design experience is a plus.
- B.S. degree (M.S. preferred) in Civil Engineering (structural course work emphasis).
- PE license required or able to get within 6 months.
- Effective oral and written communication essential.
