Manufacturing Procurement Specialist

At Plasser American Corp, we are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Buyer to join our team. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of transactions, minimizing costs without impacting service levels.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage day-to-day business relationships with suppliers, including ordering, communication of demand/volume/delivery requirements, issue resolution, and follow-up on backorders.
- Process purchase orders accurately and timely in accordance with Plasser American's standards.
- Research items for price and verification of specifications.
- Sources materials and suppliers as required to achieve corporate goals.
- Negotiate contracts to obtain materials from suppliers at the lowest cost, considering quality, lead time, and reliability of source.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure continuity of inventory receipts and services that meet quality, service, delivery, and price performance standards.
- Recommend changes to the supplier base and supplier consolidation.
- Prepare and follow up on orders to expedite delivery.
- Resolve shipping/receiving and invoice discrepancies.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Participate in vendor qualification activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of three years of buyer experience in a manufacturing organization.
- Comprehensive understanding of purchasing concepts and procedures.
- Proven understanding of materials and supply chain management functions.
- 80 hours of paid time off during the first year of employment.
