Manufacturing Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Supervisor to join our team at Sumitomo Machinery Corp of America. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for managing machining processes to meet product quality, throughput, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a team of precision machinists, apprentices, and manufacturing engineers to ensure completion of all orders to prescribed levels of quality and in a timely manner.
- Plan and manage workflow in assigned areas to meet operational objectives of product velocity, quality, labor efficiency, traceability, cost, and customer satisfaction.
- Analyze and optimize process parameters to improve efficiency, first-time-yield, cost, layout, and safety.
- Implement lean manufacturing practices such as Single piece flow, Perfect first time yield, Self-inspection & Successive inspection, Autonomation, 5S, and Visual factory.
- Communicate pending issues with senior manufacturing management.
- At least 15 years of hands-on precision manufacturing experience, preferably in heavy equipment manufacturing with at least 5 years of experience in a direct leadership role.
- Excellent management abilities, including building, enhancing, and sustaining a cohesive, customer-focused, and performance-focused team environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, planning, and problem-solving/troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to make and follow plans/schedules.
- Operational Supervisors - Interactions with Quality Assurance, Procurement, Production Control, and Engineering (Design, Product, Applications, and Machining).
Duties are performed in an industrial environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; twist; bend; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must constantly lift, carry, move, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee is constantly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
