Energy Project Development Manager

The Energy Project Development Manager will become a vital member of CEG's project development unit, tasked with evaluating, analyzing, designing, and articulating technical solutions for intricate energy and operational challenges. This pivotal role demands a proactive, enthusiastic individual with a strong commitment to creating sustainable energy solutions and overseeing their design, execution, and performance phases. We are looking for high-potential candidates who can quickly adapt and grow with the organization, taking on greater responsibilities as the company evolves in the coming years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide a team of internal engineering and development professionals to create impactful and easily implementable projects.
  • Lead and assist proposal development teams in responding to project requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Oversee development timelines, budgets, and the management of subcontractors and consultants.
  • Establish and nurture senior-level client relationships.
  • Manage the technical, financial, and contractual dimensions of projects with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Identify, develop, and propose innovative technical solutions.
  • Review and supervise engineering calculations and designs.
  • Prepare project implementation cost estimates through comprehensive vendor bidding processes and internal cost assessments.
  • Develop financial models for projects and assist in structuring financing to align with client objectives.
  • Negotiate, structure, and finalize customer agreements.
  • Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate project risks.

Location Preference: Northern VA, Washington DC metro area.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; a master's degree in business or engineering is preferred.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in business management, focusing on major project development for energy conservation in various sectors, including MUSH, C&I, or federal government markets, project finance, utility regulation, and construction.
  • Proven ability to lead high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams.

Desired Attributes:

  • A strong passion for energy efficiency, alternative energy, information technology, and sustainability.
  • Exceptional relationship-building capabilities with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Outstanding planning and organizational skills as a detail-oriented, results-driven professional.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality and innovative solutions in a fast-paced, ever-evolving industry.
  • A self-motivated personality with a commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.

Hybrid Work Model:

Our team primarily operates in a remote or hybrid work environment that optimizes a blend of virtual and in-person interactions. We are intentional about co-locating with each other and our clients for maximum impact while empowering our employees to maintain the flexibility they desire. The nature of our work managing client transformations may require some team members to be onsite at client locations, thus the ability to travel is expected and varies by role.

This hybrid model benefits our employees and significantly contributes to environmental sustainability by reducing travel and commuting time, thereby lowering our carbon footprint. Our standard operating hours are typically from 8 AM to 5 PM EST, and we appreciate flexibility for our teams to adapt to meetings scheduled in EST.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position begins at $160,000 annually. CEG Solutions LLC considers a wide array of factors when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and other business needs. Please note that this is a general estimate and does not account for geographic location adjustments. Typically, starting salaries are determined based on individual qualifications and experience and may fall below the upper end of the range.

In addition to your salary, you may be eligible for our annual bonus program, which is discretionary and based on your performance as well as the overall success of the company.
