Position Overview

Dublin School Inc is in search of a dedicated bus operator responsible for the safe transportation of students to and from educational institutions, athletic events, and other designated locations. The operator will conduct comprehensive pre- and post-trip evaluations to ensure the vehicle's safety, cleanliness, and compliance with sanitary standards. This role is offered on a per diem basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transports students and staff using a 42-passenger bus or a 14-passenger van, adhering to all driving regulations.
  • Ensures the safety of passengers by enforcing established safety protocols during transit.
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
  • Conducts thorough pre- and post-trip inspections, documenting any safety concerns or issues.
  • Responsible for fueling vehicles weekly and assisting with their maintenance as required.
  • Keeps the bus and van in a clean and organized condition.
  • Follows all organizational policies and procedures related to transportation.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of driving experience, whether personal or professional.
  • Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements, along with air brake certification.
  • Must hold a Medical Examiner's Certificate and Medical Examiner's Card.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years old.
  • Compliance with DOT substance abuse regulations and testing is mandatory.
  • A clean driving record is required, with documentation to be submitted to the Human Resources Coordinator.
  • CPR and First Aid Certifications may be required.
  • All candidates must undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, as well as random testing as per DOT regulations.
  • Successful candidates will be subject to a background check.
