Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with construction specifications, regulations, and codes.
  • Identify and report any deficiencies or violations found during inspections.
  • Coordinate inspection activities with architects, engineers, and state agencies to ensure that all phases of work have been inspected and approved.
  • Review construction project documents, including contracts, drawings, and project manuals, to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Schedule and coordinate pre-construction conferences with agencies, architects, engineers, and contractors to discuss project progress.
  • Perform final inspections and prepare and submit reports upon job completion.
  • Attend final meetings with agencies, architects, engineers, and contractors to close out the project and contract for final payment.
Requirements
  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; or two years of vocational training in construction techniques or building design; plus three years of experience in construction work.
  • Knowledge of building construction design techniques, state regulatory construction codes, and building materials.
  • Ability to inspect construction to determine compliance with state and contract regulations.
  • Ability to identify deficiencies in building plans or in actual construction.
  • Ability to complete inspection reports and review and evaluate building and/or construction plans.
