Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant to join our ambulatory clinic team. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Room patients and collect pertinent information regarding their chief complaint, family history, social history, surgical history, and medication reconciliation.
  • Complete necessary telephone communications with patients, families, pharmacies, and/or other healthcare facilities.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including patient check-in/check-out, prior authorizations, scheduling appointments, verification of benefits, and coordination of referrals and testing.
  • May perform procedures such as urine catheterizations, bladder scanning, suture or staple removal, application or removal of casts at the direction of a provider.
  • Provide patient education and instructions regarding procedures, medications, or follow-up instructions at the direction of the provider.
  • Administer medications per provider order and provide assistance with prescription medication refills.
  • Maintain department-specific competencies related to point-of-care testing, equipment handling, and specialty training.
Requirements:
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to learn and retain information, strong customer service skills, and compassion and caring in dealing with others.
  • Ability to operate office equipment and proficiency in basic computer skills.
