Position Overview:
We are currently in search of a skilled Controls Engineer to enhance our Building Automation Group. This role focuses on the effective installation and management of building automation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform checkout, start-up, and testing of BMS DDC controllers across various mechanical systems.
- Work in critical environments such as data centers.
- Design, test, and implement BMS control programs that adhere to complex operational sequences.
- Initiate and configure graphical user interfaces, including BMS servers and control panel displays.
- Provide regular updates and reports to project leadership.
- Maintain professional communication with clients and subcontractors.
- Document project progress and assist in preparing accurate close-out documentation.
- Develop and follow detailed Method of Procedure (MOP) and Change Management (CM) protocols.
- Conduct BMS commissioning activities, including Pre-functional, Functional, and Integrated Systems Testing, both independently and collaboratively with third-party commissioning agents.
- Perform routine maintenance and servicing of existing BMS systems in active environments.
- Support multiple projects concurrently in the designated regions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred, or an Associate's degree/apprenticeship with relevant experience, or a minimum of 5 years in the automation/controls sector.
- Familiarity with BACnet and/or Modbus protocols and integration with third-party systems.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, with excellent troubleshooting and analytical capabilities.
- Experience with AutoDesk AutoCAD, MS Visio, and/or Bluebeam Revu is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel locally, with occasional overnight stays.
- Knowledge of BAS systems such as Schneider Electric, Siemens, JCI, ALC, Trane, Delta Controls, Distech, Honeywell, or similar.
- Experience with Tridium Niagara is preferred.
