Position Overview: We are in search of a talented and driven Controls Engineer to become a vital part of our team. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in the design, development, and execution of control systems for new installations and building projects. This role presents an exceptional opportunity for individuals with robust technical skills and a commitment to guiding projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- PLC Programming: Create, develop, and troubleshoot PLC programs to ensure the effective and dependable operation of control systems in diverse industrial settings.
- SCADA & HMI Development: Design and maintain SCADA and HMI systems, particularly utilizing Ignition, to deliver user-friendly interfaces and real-time data visualization for operators and engineers.
- Project Lifecycle Management: Participate in all stages of the project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, commissioning, and project handover.
- Greenfield Projects: Spearhead controls engineering initiatives on greenfield projects, overseeing new building installations from the ground up.
- System Integration: Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to integrate control systems with other engineering disciplines, ensuring seamless operation across all systems.
- Project Management: Support project management efforts, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and communication with stakeholders.
- Technical Documentation: Generate comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture, wiring diagrams, and operation manuals.
- Customer Interaction: Engage closely with clients to comprehend their requirements, provide technical assistance, and ensure satisfaction with the solutions delivered.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical), Control Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in controls engineering, emphasizing PLC programming and SCADA/HMI development, especially with Ignition.
- Project Experience: Proven experience in participating in the complete project lifecycle, with management experience being a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
- Extensive experience with SCADA systems, particularly Ignition.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, etc.)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software for creating electrical schematics.
- Project Management: Basic project management capabilities, including effective time, budget, and resource management.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in controls engineering or project management are advantageous.
