Business Office Manager with Inventory Expertise

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Office Manager with Inventory Expertise to join our dynamic team at NorthPoint Search Group Inc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management:

    • Monitor and reconcile inventory accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts.
    • Analyze inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
    • Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Month-End Close Management:

    • Lead and manage the month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate closing of inventory accounts.
    • Perform and oversee journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
    • Prepare and review inventory-related financial statements and reports.
    • Ensure all month-end financial reports are completed accurately and on time.
    • Communicate and coordinate with other departments to gather necessary information for month-end close.
  • Financial Reporting:

    • Maintain and update inventory accounting policies and procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
    • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
    • Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits.
  • System Management:

    • Utilize QuickBooks for inventory accounting and financial reporting.
    • Implement and optimize inventory management systems.
    • Provide training and support to team members on inventory accounting processes.

Requirements:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 4 years of experience in inventory accounting, preferably in a retail environment.
    • Proven experience managing month-end close processes.
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
    • Proficiency in QuickBooks.
  • Skills:

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
