Position Overview:

This role is dedicated to enhancing the educational experience for students pursuing an Associate in Applied Science degree in the Caterpillar Dealer Preparation Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain precise documentation of student achievements and share with administrative staff as necessary.
  • Manage an instructional workload of 15 credit hours per semester, which may include both daytime and evening classes or online learning formats.
  • Hold regular office hours to support student engagement and learning.
  • Collaborate with faculty and industry representatives to develop and refine course materials and curriculum.
  • Oversee the upkeep and organization of classrooms and laboratories.
  • Conduct tours for prospective students and their families.
  • Engage in various institutional events, including graduations and student activities.
  • Commit to completing assigned tasks diligently and efficiently.
  • Keep course outlines, objectives, assignments, and assessments current and relevant.
  • Participate in curriculum committees as needed.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving student retention and success.
  • Build and sustain partnerships with industry stakeholders.
  • Create dynamic and interactive learning experiences that leverage technology.
  • Engage in the academic evaluation of student learning outcomes in accordance with accreditation standards.
  • Assist with the institution's student recruitment efforts.
  • Represent the academic department and institution in professional and community settings.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as required to support the department and institution.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and industry experience may be considered.
  • Proven track record of ethical and professional conduct.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant industry experience.
  • Preferred experience in higher education teaching.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, fuel systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, and related technologies.
  • Ability to plan and execute complex projects.
  • Proficient in computer applications including word processing and electronic communication.
  • Commitment to high standards of professionalism and ethics.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a capacity for resolving conflicts constructively.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to responsibilities.
  • Ability to foster innovation and excellence in educational practices.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Valid driver's license and relevant certifications.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Travel may be necessary.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds in a typical classroom environment.
