Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinician (NP or PA) to join our medical services team at Planned Parenthood of Michigan. As a key member of our team, you will provide reproductive and prenatal health care to our patients, adhering to our protocols and operational processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain comprehensive health histories, including obstetric, gynecologic, contraceptive, medical, surgical, sexual, family health, and psychosocial information, and record findings accurately and succinctly.
  • Perform physical examinations with a focus on the reproductive system, including breast examination, pelvic examination, cancer screening tests, diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and other specialized procedures as needed.
  • Care for 3-3.5 patients per hour, providing direct medical care for core services, including family planning, medication abortion, and prenatal care.
  • Participate in patient-focused goal achievement and provide recommendations for specialists when care exceeds our scope.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies as permitted by affiliate medical protocols and consult with Chief Medical Officer, Associate Medical Directors, and Chief Operating Officer to ensure compliance with standards and guidelines.
  • Provide health instruction on family planning, nutrition, sexual counseling, and health promotion and maintenance principles.
  • Act as a conduit for information and ideas between sites and other departments, participating in ongoing feedback with colleagues and incorporating customer satisfaction into all aspects of work.
  • Encourage teamwork and take responsibility for evaluating and improving systems, adhering to established protocols, policies, and standard practices in customer service, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance programs.
Requirements
  • Current NYS license as an NP, PA, or CNM.
  • National board certification preferred.
  • Three to five years of clinical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams, work effectively with diverse staff, and manage 3-3.5 patients per hour.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
