Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled individual with a background in Engineering or Laboratory settings, particularly in electrical and mechanical domains, to oversee validation testing as a key responsibility. This role involves collaborating with Lab Technicians and the Engineering Team to establish timelines for various testing tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct testing on existing, new, and competitive products, including:
    • Validation and verification for new product development
    • Benchmarking and addressing quality concerns
  • Provide recommendations for design improvements based on testing outcomes
  • Create new test specifications to ensure repeatability and standardization
  • Design test fixtures using SolidWorks for automated testing and data collection, incorporating PLCs, sensors, and pneumatic systems
  • Maintain a working knowledge of AC and DC circuitry
  • Oversee lab maintenance, addressing mechanical issues and performing upgrades
  • Compile and present findings in comprehensive test reports
  • Manage cross-functional projects to ensure successful outcomes, including:
    • Identifying and resolving roadblocks
    • Communicating project status and changes effectively
    • Maintaining a safe and organized work environment
  • Support the team in achieving and reporting on SMART goals (KPIs) as directed by management
  • Assist Sustaining Engineering with documentation updates and material investigations as needed
  • Demonstrate proficiency in designing mechanical and electromechanical products, including:
    • Designing injection-molded components using various materials and DFM techniques
    • Creating and modifying complex design files using CAD, preferably SolidWorks
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering
  • Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Familiarity with CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, and experience with static and dynamic FEA
  • Ability to interpret engineered drawings and specifications
  • Experience with injection molded plastic part design and assembly is preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
