Position Summary:


Requires someone with experience in an Engineering or Lab environment, working with electrical and mechanical areas and automated test fixtures.

Validation testing will be a primary responsibility of this position.

Other goals of this position include:
contributing to creating test protocol and standards, continuous improvement, and investigating new technology.

This person will work directly with the other Lab Technician(s) and Engineering Team to schedule completion dates for these tasks.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and Perform testing on current, new, and competitor products
  • NPD validation & verification testing
  • Benchmarking, quality concerns, dilution requests
  • Make recommendations for design modifications based off testing data
  • Develop new test specifications for repeatability, standardization and capacity
  • Develop test fixtures with SolidWorks for automated cycle testing and data collection using PLC's, sensors, and pneumatics
  • Working knowledge of AC and DC circuitry
  • Lab maintenance; mechanical problems, upgrades and preventative maintenance
  • Present findings and data in a logical and professional test report
  • Manage cross functional projects to a successful outcome
  • Help to address roadblocks
  • Communicate status and project changes timely
  • Maintain 6S plan, PM schedule and safe work environment
  • Support team to meet and report out on SMART goals (KPIs) passed down by their Manager
  • Support Sustaining Engineering as needed with drawings, BOM updates, & material scarcity investigations, etc.
  • Proven ability designing products from idea to production for mechanical and electromechanical products including:
  • Design of static and dynamic loaded injection molded components using a variety of materials and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) techniques
  • New designs based on product specifications
  • Investigate opportunities and implement productivity & cost saving projects
  • Create, modify and/or maintain complex design files (3D & 2D) using CAD to 3D model, analyze and document the product design preferably using SolidWorks
  • All other tasks as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering
  • Ability to effectively work within a cross functional team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Familiarity with CAD, preferably SolidWorks, static and dynamic FEA
  • Ability to read engineered drawings and specifications preferred
  • Experience with projects involving injection molded plastic part design & assembly is preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English both verbal and written
