Job Description:

The Pastry Sous Chef will play a crucial role in enhancing the culinary experience at Omni Hotels by assisting in the preparation of a wide range of baked goods, pastries, cakes, chocolates, and other sweet treats for all outlets throughout the resort and banquets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead by Example: Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills in the pastry kitchen, setting the tone for a high-performing team.
  • Product Development: Create a variety of pastries, cakes, and chocolates that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Recipe Evaluation and Execution: Carefully evaluate recipes and food orders to ensure that they meet the required standards, and execute them with precision and attention to detail.
  • Team Support: Assist Pastry Associates on each station of the pastry kitchen and other stations as needed, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless operations.
  • Inventory Management: Conduct daily inventory checks to ensure that the kitchen is stocked with the necessary ingredients and supplies.
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain high standards of quality control, ensuring that all products meet the required standards.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities to team members, helping them to grow and develop in their roles.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including training employees, planning and assigning work duties.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a hotel supervisory position within the Culinary Department.
  • Culinary Degree or Apprenticeship: Possess a culinary degree or apprenticeship certification.
