Patient Transporter Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Transporter to join our team at Compass Group, North America. As a Patient Transporter, you will play a critical role in facilitating the safe and timely transportation of patients, medical equipment, and patient-related items to their destinations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Properly and safely transport patients, securing IVs, drainage tubes, and other medical equipment as needed.
  • Utilize wheelchairs and other approved rolling stock to transport patients to their destinations.
  • Communicate effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient transportation.
  • Ensure the comfort and safety of patients during transportation, offering blankets and checking modesty as needed.
  • Alert nursing staff immediately to any signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction.
  • Maintain equipment and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO requirements.
  • Adhere to facility confidentiality and patient rights policies as outlined in the facility's HIPPA policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • No experience required; willing to train.
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule with rotating weekends and varying hours.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and move patients safely and efficiently.
