Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tribal Administrator to join our team at Chenega Corporation. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to adapt to the needs and requirements of the position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out the goals and objectives of the Tribe utilizing policies and procedures
  • Responsible for the daily operations of the Tribe, including utilities, harbor, corporate housing, public buildings, etc.
  • Develop and submit grants that advance the Tribe's strategic goals in close coordination with the CRDG team
  • Manage corporate housing and facilities within the village for rentals, contractors, and visitors
  • Facilitate Tribal Council meetings, including development of packets and draft resolutions
  • Organize and manage special events, such as the annual meeting, elections, and the Chenega Memorial event
Requirements
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business or public administration
  • Minimum of 7 years in a similar role in a leadership position in either a profit or nonprofit organization
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven success in grant writing and administration
  • Strong MS Office Suite experience
  • Tribal program development and experience with funding agencies, including BIA, State of Alaska, and IHS programs, preferred
